Panorama Mesdag is a huge circular painting by Hendrik Willem Mesdag from 1881, on display in a museum on Zeestraat in The Hague. It shows Scheveningen as it looked at the time: the sea, the beach with bomb barges, the village and the dunes.The canvas is about 14 meters high and about 120 meters in circumference. You walk through a dark corridor to a recreated dune top in the middle, and a sandy area with real objects merges into the painting.
